How can travel and tourism sales training & education be delivered more effectively?

Gary Jacobs,Nigel Fell

BUZZ Live Event
Following a two year research project carried out with the travel trade to better
understand why travel agents had become disengaged with traditional online training, Spinning Globe developed a new approach to sales training and education helping travel agents to increase their sales potential and the commission individual agents can earn by helping them to sell more of a destination.

This new approach to sales training helps tourist authorities to meet their core objectives of growing visitor numbers and distribution around their destinations. Our approach is based on the findings that familiarisation trips are the most effective way of training the travel trade but, due to complex logistics and costs, only a minute fraction of the travel industry benefits from first hand destination experiences through fam trips. This led Spinning Globe to develop a way to engage with the entire travel industry, globally, delivering virtual fam trips as a digital replication of real fam trips, known as a VFam. This approach has led Spinning Globe to focus on helping to establish Continual Professional Development as a core platform for the travel industry.
